The first Gorseinon food festival hosted and developed by the Gorseinon development trust in April was a great community event and as our chairmen Andrew Donald stated in his remarks of welcome” when the Gorseinon development trust was established one of our key objectives was to create events that involve the whole community . Another was to bring back a sense of pride in the area” the food festival achieved this

Some of the headline facts

·         Over 70 local people gave of their time on the day to act as stewards, greeters, run activities and events, man parking and welcome e people to Gorseinon

·         over 4000 visitors visited us on the day

·         we had over 60 stalls 35 food and local produce  who all created a great friendly family day

In line with our policies of openness and transparencies we enclose our finances for the day so people can see the effort that has to go into developing a day like this.

As it was our first time of running the event we learnt a huge amount and will be applying our lessons learnt to our next festival on April 16th 2011.
