Friday, 4th April 2008 The Trust, together with BTCV, Friends of Parc Melin Mynach and the City & County of Swansea, organised a litter pick at Parc Melin Mynach. Volunteers were invited to spend some time working in the open air and have fun at the same time by helping clear litter from the park and around The Mill. | ||||||||||

A free BBQ was arranged and Christine Freeman rallied around local businesses to provide refreshments for the event.
Gorseinon traders, Richards Butchers, Carl Lewis Butchers, Sainsbury's, Greggs Bakers, Somerfield and Farm Foods all donated items of food and drink for the event.
Among the volunteers, were Carl Britton from the Trust, Ryan Keenan from BTCV, Nick Sharp of the Green Gym, Christine Freeman of FOPMM, Gorseinon Army Cadets, BTCV Green Gym Volunteers, Rivers of Joy Youth Group, Port Talbot Army Cadet Leader and 7 French exchange students.
Thursday, 31st May 2007 The Friends of Parc Melin Mynach, BTCV, Gwalia, City & County of Swansea, Sports Council Wales and the Gorseinon Development Trust joined forces for a litter pick at Parc Melin Mynach on Thursday, 31st May 2007. Participants met at the Cecil Road entrance to the park at 11 am with a packed lunch. An amazing amount of rubbish was removed from the Park, making it a far more pleasant place to visit. The photographs show Carl Britton with some of the volunteers displaying some of the bags full of rubbish that they had removed from the Park. It is intended that this litter pick is the first of many to be held every 4-6 weeks with everyone welcome to join in. The members of the Adult Learning Centre in Fforest Fach also contributed to the environment by undertaking a litter pick on Monday, 11 June 2007 organised by the Parks Department.
