Gorseinon's town has always been at a crossroads which makes it an ideal location in which to conduct business. The Romans first saw the potential of the area in setting up training camps and eventually a fort at Loughor, the crossing point into Carmarthenshire.
Medieval monks moved into the area in the 12th Century establishing a grist mill on the site we now know as Monds Mill Parc Melin Mynach. From the 17th Century industry developed utilising the area's natural resources, the coal from the mountains and the easy access to the sea via tramways and railways down to Swansea and the Burry Estuary.
The scars of heavy industry have faded now with the closure of the last works in 2001 and the reclamation of the land which has now become the location of the Canolfan Gorseinon Centre. But location is still just as important, situated between the mountains and the sea, Gorseinon sits 5 minutes off Junction 47 of the M4 equidistant between Cardiff and Haverfordwest, making it the ideal location for South Wales gatherings, regional meetings and exhibitions.
With free accessible parking Canolfan Gorseinon Centre sits at the crossroads for business in South Wales. | ||||||||||
